Jan Kerosene Pariyojana

    Objective of the project is to make available kerosene in the required quantities to the intended beneficiaries i.e. families below poverty line and secondly, to eliminate diversion of PDS SKO for adulteration.  Pilot project is implemented in 10% of the blocks of the country initially for six months. After review and based on the experience, Government will consider scaling up the scheme to cover the entire country. Capital expenditure anticipated for the scheme is Rs.696 crore. The scheme has been extended upto 30.06.2008.   The expenditure on the pilot scheme has been estimated at 10% of the total cost of the scheme i.e Rs.69.60 crore.  The OIDB has reimbursed an amount of Rs.22.30 crore approx. to oil companies in respect of the scheme upto 31.03.2008.
