Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA)

                 Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) is a society under Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas with the primary objective of promoting conservation of petroleum products in the major sectors of transport, industry, agriculture and households.  In pursuance of this objective, PCRA is engaged in creating and sustaining mass awareness about the importance of petroleum conservation throughout the country and assisting and encouraging organizations and individuals to reduce consumption through efficient utilization of the petroleum products.  Responding to the changing energy and environment scenario, PCRA has diversified its activities to cover gas, bio-fuels, renewable energy sources and environment protection.  Action has also been taken to establish close linkages with organizations engaged in energy conservation efforts in the country to achieve synergy at the national level.  Grant released to PCRA upto 31.03.2012 amounts to Rs.386.13 crore approximately.
